This is the final weekend of Ginger’s The Embryos. Don’t miss it. The production has received some very nice reviews — here’s one from The New England Theatre Geek and another from Boston Arts Review. Shawarma!
Hard to believe, but it’s almost time to see Leggo and Eggo in the flesh! Er, well, maybe not in the flesh exactly — they are embryos — but get your tickets and see Ginger’s funny and thought-provoking play come to life!

Splendor Lit Beneath Their Bones by Kirsten Greenidge

Join us for the first public reading of the newest work by OBIE award-winning playwright and Huntington Theatre Company Playwriting Fellow Kirsten Greenidge (Luck of the Irish, Milk Like Sugar). A reception and talkback will follow the reading, with your feedback taking center stage!
XX PLAYLAB is a program developed by the Boston Center for the Arts that fulfills an urgent need in the theatre community by supporting female playwrights in the development and production of new scripts. This season, the BCA expands this program by featuring the new work of three talented Boston writers: Kirsten Greenidge, Natalia Naman, and Lydia R. Diamond. A series of public readings will culminate in a Festival Weekend on March 22 – 24, produced in partnership with Company One.

This is shaping up to be a big season for Rhombus. (Pun intended.) Productions abound (look to your right), and the latest news is that Pat and I have been invited to join the 2012-13 class of New Voices @ New Rep Playwriting Fellows!
During the Fellowship, we will work on full-length projects with our fellow Fellows (and friends) Peter Floyd and Deirdre Girard, and get to hang out with New Rep Associate Artistic Director Bridget Kathleen O’Leary. Excellent!
Some of us were able to catch Joe’s excellent play The Fakus this weekend. Go Joe!
Check out the poster for Joe’s play The Fakus, which opens this month at Centastage. I can’t wait to see it come to life. When he was writing the first draft, Joe brought the play in to Rhombus one scene at a time and had us all hanging on every word!
In the latest in a string of good news for Rhombus playwrights, last night our own Kirsten Greenidge won an Obie Award for playwriting, for her script Milk Like Sugar. The play was produced Off Broadway by Playwrights Horizons and the Women’s Project and initially commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse.
Way to go, Kirsten!
